Meet the Min Pins: Subtle Hold for Shorter Hair and Delicate Styling

Meet the Min Pins: Subtle Hold for Shorter Hair and Delicate Styling

Every pin in the Day Rate lineup exists because I kept running into the same problem in real hair, on real clients, over and over. The Min Pins came from one specific gap: there wasn't a hair pin small enough for shorter hair, kids' hair, or the kind of delicate, small-section work that a Power Pin or even a Petite Power Pin is genuinely too much for.

If you've got a bob, a lob, or hair that's grown out just past your shoulders, you know the frustration. Most pins are sized for hair that's long enough to twist into a full bun, and shorter hair doesn't have enough length to work with. The Min Pins are sized down specifically for that, along with small sections, half-up styles on shorter hair, and any styling where subtlety matters more than maximum hold.

They're also what I reach for on kids, for the same reason. Smaller head, finer hair in a lot of cases, and a pin that doesn't need to do heavy lifting. A Min Pin holds a small section securely without the bulk or length of our bigger pins.

Think of the Min Pins as doing for small, precise sections what a hair fork does for structural interest, minus the visible styling element. A hair fork sits on top of the hair as part of the look. A Min Pin disappears into it. Both have their place, but if what you want is hold that nobody can see, the Min Pins are built for exactly that.

Where they don't work as well: a full bun on long or thick hair. That's still a job for the Power Pin or Petite Power Pin, which have the length to anchor a larger amount of hair. The Min Pins are precise on purpose, and that precision is the whole point.

Like every pin we make, the Min Pins are made in the USA and color-matched to real hair tones, not a generic blonde or brunette category. A pin that matches disappears into the hair. A pin that doesn't sits on top of it and competes with the style.

If your hair is on the shorter side, or you're doing detail work that a bigger pin overwhelms, the Min Pins are the ones I'd start with.
